Did You Know:- Wood Wool is a light, bio-degradable product made from shredded timber. Lots of people have probably seen wood wool either in a hamper at Christmas or packaging in their parcels ….. Not a lot of people know much else about it.
Wood wool was invented over 200 years ago and became very popular in the pottery industry and was used to keep items safe and secure whilst they were transported on the back of horse carts, many years before foam was invented, unfortunately foam is so popular today.
At the start of the 19th century wood wool was still used for packaging, but then in the 50’s something happened, polystyrene became popular, remember these were the days when people were sat at their desks smoking, so, eco-friendly packaging was not the most important thing on their minds!
Eventually most of the wood wool factories closed down and the industry nearly died! Now it’s making a come-back, especially in Fire lighters, they are the most sold Firelighter in the UK today.
Because they are so ecofriendly they can be used to light any fire, restaurants are our biggest customers, we sell more Wood Wool firelighters than any other, they really are the best.
DELIVERY: Our delivery service is available throughout Cornwall and into Plymouth, we have a small charge of £15.00 for deliveries within 20 miles of Wadebridge, outside of this area there is a £29.99 delivery charge on all orders.
We now offer you the opportunity to collect your logs, coal and other fuels from us in Wadebridge, this way the cost of delivery is removed and the price drops, this is proving to be extremely popular with our customers as the savings can be quite large.
