Kiln Dried Ash Logs – Ash has always been the choice of Kings and Queens over centuries as their choice of firewood, farmers, builders & boat builders have used Ash for tools, wheels, boats, axes, chairs, spears, hockey sticks, carriages, airplanes plus many, many more uses.
Our Kiln Dried Ash Logs are packed into user friendly nets, each net contains approximately 11 to 14 logs depending on size of the tree we start cutting the logs from.
Nowadays, we import most of our Ash wood products from overseas so the faithful Ash tree has become somewhat redundant, however, Ash has now begun to make a comeback in the form of Kiln Dried Ash Logs for modern and traditional stoves, open fires and cookers, Ash grows very fast and has little moisture which makes the production of Kiln Dried Ash Logs faster.
Kiln Dried Ash Logs burn very hot and clean, this is the secret to keep your stove glass clear and the flue/chimney in good condition, Kiln Dried Ash Logs have little tar residue and being Kiln Dried has a lower moisture content, again helping keep your appliance and flue clean.
The Kiln Dried Ash Logs are loaded into our kilns by hand, the moisture level is checked every day by the kiln manager, the Ash Logs have their moisture level dropped to approximately 8% to 9%, they are then removed and put into our barn which allows the Cornish air to blow through the sides, this rehydrates the Kiln Dried Ash Logs back up to the ambient moisture level in Cornwall, which is approximately 15% to 20% by drying and rehydrating the Kiln Dried Ash Logs this makes them burn very hot and produce long lasting heat with very little ash residue.
Our Ash is grown, harvested, split, netted and kiln dried in Cornwall, the ash is from big large estates that are being cleared for re-planting, all our wood is totally sustainable for the future. By purchasing from us, you are supporting the Cornish community
Kiln Dried Ash Logs are highly recommended for use in stoves, wood burners, open fires, BBQ’s
